The aroma is herbaceous, similar to sage but with a sharper quality, with a sweet, fruity aftertone. The aroma is a bit hard to describe, Yerba Mate has a very distinct aroma that is all its own and I have not found anything that it smells like to compare it to.

The taste starts quite sweet and fruity but it fades to herbaceous and woody that is a bit strange but not unpleasant.

In college we used to drink this one before art history exams, in hopes that it would make the subject more interesting. It did not, but man does it kick you in the face. Certainly made for some fun times.

The flavor is as grassy and clean as you'd expect from a yerba mate, though there's a tinge of orange in the scent. Don't drink it unless you need the energy boost though, because otherwise it will seriously mess you up. Let's just say you're not sleeping for about ten hours after a gourd full of this.
