English Teatime from Bigelow Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: ?????40 / 100 Aroma: 5/10 Flavor: 2/5 Value: 1/5

Blah. "Office Tea" - I used to get this in an old law firm I works at who stocked a variety of Bigelow Teas. Blah. Not awful but not good either. Mediocre black tea that steeps-up dark and fairly fast. As others have said, this one is bitter at the end. Tastes ok at first - but bitter aftertaste,

This is an easy-drinking green tea with grassy notes an a faint whiff of herbs (sage? I dunno - but I get an herbaceous quality if you let it steep long enough.) Must steep at least 3 minutes as it brews up "pale". Good hot and OK on ice. I like this one better hot. Super-mild.

I thought this tea was exquisite and would drink it again! The flavor was smooth and rich with no bitter aftertaste -- excellent quality in my book. It had a peculiar taste for an oolong, to me it seemed to have a more complex flavor than others that I've tried. I have my own personal hangup with the price, as it do...

Very smooth, but not aromatic enough for me when brewed.
As usual with TeaVivre, the dry leaf is intensely aromatic, suggesting sweet and umami flavors. The leaf looks to consist exclusively of tips, with two very tiny leaves attached to a bud, the leaves hardly bigger than than the bud itself. Upon brewing though...

Sorry - I just don't care for Lapsang Souchang (smoked) teas in general - and Ito En's is no exception - but that said - if you like smokey back teas with a strong aroma and a full-body when brewed (best served hot - it's just not an "icing" tea) - give Ito En's a try.

I like the roasty-toasty notes of Hojicha - especially iced in summer after a meal of sushi or sashimi - it just makes me feel good. Ito-En is like the McDonald's o Tea in Japan but is less known in the USA. I used to love going to the flagship store in NYC but I think it ,may be gone now. Meanwhile - try Ito En t...

Meh. Typical green-tasting grassy green conveniently bagged, easily acquirable tea. Not a holy grail by any means - but I'll take this over a cuppa Lipton any day! And, yes, I had this in an old law firm I worked at years back. (Office tea!) And at cheap delis in Philly and NYC.
Oh - and now in 2014 we have this & ...
English Breakfast from Stash Tea

An inexpensive English Breakfast (bagged) option from Stash. Not great but not bad either. Black, caffeinated, full bodied and brews up quickly to an inky black (be careful). Readily available. Good hot. (Not ideal iced in my opinion.)

Fortnum and Mason teas - especially the Black, strong Irish breakfast, brings back memories of England for me. This will wake you up for sure - and I need sugar or honey in it - and is better hot than iced in my opinion. (true Brits would put milk it this.)

Inexpensive, black caffeinated and readily available. Not a fan - but some offices still stock this for free (though Lipton is very popular as well). CHEAP! Slightly bitter - and very, very black.

A very green oolong with a strong and lasting orchid aroma. Among my favorite green oolongs ever sampled.
A few years ago, when I knew considerably less about tea, someone brought a little packet of tea back from China and gave it to my mother as a gift. It was unbranded, marked only with "Guan Yin Wang", and had ...

This tea wasn't as strong as I expected, considering that it's an Irish Breakfast. Then again I've never been one to think that Irish Breakfast is strong, I've had stronger Assams. I'm a big fan of smells, so I appreciate its roasted aroma. I wouldn't go out of my way for this tea, but I liked it overall and would dr...

This tea was very fresh when I picked it up. Dry leaf is largeish pieces of broken orthodox tea, with a pleasant aroma, typical of black tea but with hints of cinnamon and wintergreen, a good sign!

Definitely my favorite bai hao (oriental beauty) oolong yet. This is not a type of oolong I generally like, but I found this to be an atypical example of its style.
Significantly roasty aroma, and flavor is bolder, although less smooth.
I am curious...is this a competition winner because it was bolder in flavor ...

I love Darjeeling - and the good stuff (first flush) is pricey - so I tried a box of this (cheap!) but you get what you pay for. Very ordinary - but the bags make it portble and it's better than the Lipton swill my office provides.
