I prefer this brand to PG Tips (though I will still drink the latter without a doubt). Strong, filling and tasty with milk and sugar.

A trip to London introduced me to this brand. I must say I enjoy the black tea it offers. I prefer with milk and sugar. Very affordable to the average tea drinker.

Irish Breakfast from Adagio Teas

Style: Irish Breakfast – Region: Blend

Rather mild. Fruity smell. Tastes woody, earthy, maybe a bit salty. Moderately astringent. I found it energizing.

I've tried the two Adagio teas that this is apparently a blend of, but this tastes totally different from either.

I like smoked paprika (keep the sweet kind away from me.) I like smoked brisket. I like campfires. I like tea.

I thought I'd like Lapsang. But it was just too smoky. A co-worker and tea genius made some for me and I tried it but then yelped, turned tail, and felt a deep shame.

So I had a lot on the line when I t...

This is the only tea that people have tasted and asked me what brand it is, because they liked it so much. Even at work, where we had a big tea round where our staples were Yorkshire and Twinings, so the bar was set fairly high already. I am a big fan of Assam and Kenya teas. As one friend said to me, "it tastes lik...

This is a STRONG black tea - that stands up well to sweetener and/or milk (I never put milk nor cream in tea but if you do this is a good one). Brews up DARK in seconds. You can easily get 2-3 infusions from a bag. May no longer be available?

Not a holy grail - but a solid, caffeinated "Breakfast-style" tea that ...

Love this tea - although I prefer waking to coffee, happy with this tea also, and its great in the afternoon. Bought this in England, though I'm told its available for a premium at some speciality stores. Great with toast and marmalade or banana bread. Already looking forward to next cup.

We were in London, at Harrods, so had to buy something. The English Breakfast tea is decent and comes in a nice tea can. Overpriced by our standards (due to strong GBPound). But other than the novelty of Harrods, for a good cuppa I'm happy with many of the Taylors of Harrogate brands.

Royal Blend from Fortnum & Mason

73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 4/5 Value: 3/5
Aug. 20th, 2015

Fortnum & Mason teas always bring back good memories of trips to London with my father years ago. Royal Blend is a strong one - less strong than, say, Irish Breakfast, but a black tea blend for sure with a tannic aroma and a pleasant "wake up" bite. I like this tea very much and it stands up to milk or cream & sugar ...

Served at Notting Hill coffee shop in Lewes, DE.

An outstanding English Breakfast blend: robust and strong, with a rich and complex aroma. The aroma is slightly malty, and has noticeable wintergreen notes.

Flavor is very bold and rich; flavor is both bitter and savory, and astringency is fairly strong; be carefu...

I would not say this is the best tea I have ever tasted but I will say it is the best value for a good tasting tea I have come across. I have been drinking this tea for a few years now because Fortnum and Mason Royal Blend got too expensive for me. I let my tea bags steep for 10 minutes to get the most out of them and ...

Another outstanding and powerful black tea blend from Upton. This was also one of my all-time favorite blends from Upton.

A classic, yet exemplary Irish Breakfast tea: true to the style, but also top-quality. My favorite Irish Breakfast tea yet.

The brewed cup is strong and smells surprisingly much of wintergreen, which I love. There are als...

I grew up on this tea. It's wonderful, nothing else comes close. We used it for hot tea in the winter and iced tea in the summer. Never bitter. I used to drink 4 - 5 cups of tea a day. Since it has become almost impossible to find, I've given up drinking tea.

An excellent blend for an excellent price, that I can see pleasing both connoisseurs and lovers of strong black teas. Potent but smooth and also complex.

Dry leaf, which is intact and wiry, has a very pleasing aroma with strong vegetal notes.

Upon brewing, produces a dark, rich, but mellow cup which reminds me a...

A classic, prototypical English Breakfast tea of average quality. Goes well with milk and probably better suited to people who (unlike me) drink their tea with milk.

A CTC (broken, mechanically-processed) tea; the dry leaf isn't terribly aromatic, but has a pleasant slightly malty aroma.

Produces a very dark cup...

If you are accustomed to PG Tips, Twinings, or Barry's, then, to you, this tea should not taste bad. If you are used to anything better than the aforementioned, then Tetley British Blend will probably still work in a pinch. You may want to let it steep longer than what you are used to with stronger teas. I let it stee...

The dry leaf of this just smells like Lapsang Souchong. It also has an ununusual, hetereogeneous shape. One tea, presumably the souchong, has very long, wiry leaves, whereas the others are much shorter. This makes me wonder if the leaves would separate if stored in a large container and shaken around enough.

Quite good for a flat tea bag.

Brews up a very dark, opaque liquor. Malty aroma, a lot like an Assam or Irish Breakfast blend. Bold flavor, moderate astringency but still smoother than average for a tea bag of this strength.

I only steeped once, just under 3 minutes, and it produced good results. The tea was s...

It's my staple "tea diet" in the UK and the "office brew" as well so you could say I almost exist on this. Makes a lovely cuppa, a dash of milk and a spoon of sugar - perfect. Just right after a long drive into the office.
