This is a lovely tea with a pleasing balance between the tea and the cinnamon flavors. I tend to prefer my spiced tea to have more than one spice for flavoring, but this is quite well done. Though it could be used to make a latte with sweetener and milk, I like it best straight. It'd be great at breakfast or anytime so...Read Full Review

One of the things I enjoy with either newly attempted teas, or favorite and familiar ones, is to breathe deeply from the freshly opened packaging and take in the scent of the dried tea. Since this concoction is labeled as vanilla with chai, I had a very well-defined, preconceived notion of how this would smell. Not e...Read Full Review

I shall weave a story about my pathetic ignorance sure to amuse tea drinkers the world over. Twinings Chai was the tea that I sampled by taking a plastic coffeemaker-brewing container (not the K-cup, but the two-inch-wide flatter kind) that someone had left in the "FREE TAKE ONE!" area at work. Caveat: I like intense, smashmouth flavors, and this tea qualifies. Everything about it is an explosion of chai spices, from the room-filling aroma of a freshly opened box of bags to the robust balance of ingredients. Read Full Review

Green chai is always a tricky one for me; I think of masala chai as being a blending tradition that is inextricably woven into the flavor profile of strong black teas. While traditional masala chai goes well with milk, I think of green tea as not going well with milk at all. I never know what to expect when I try a g...Read Full Review

As others have noted, clove and pepper come through in this tea. Cinnamon and other flavors are subtle. I added sugar and milk and really liked it. In short, as a bagged tea this one is pretty solid.Read Full Review

My nose needs improvement, I realize, but I smelled cinnamon as the dominant spice. Can cloves, which my fellow reviewers have noticed playing such a dominant role in this tea, mimic cinnamon to such a great degree? I don't know. Whether cinnamon or clove, one note drowns out all others. We live in a world where good c...Read Full Review

I really, really like this one. It's a great chai that works the chocolate flavoring just right. The cardamom is the most noticeable spice for the first couple cups, with the cinnamon showing up later. In both cases they were very smooth, not overwhelming or out of place.Read Full Review

It smells good, but the taste of cloves is really overpowering. When the tea is in my mouth I feel like I'm drinking hot water with a bunch of ground cloves mixed in, and it almost tastes burnt. It's not my all-time favorite chai, but this tea is very solid. The cardamom flavor is the most notable and it provides a certain briskness to it. Quite solid tea. I only tried it straight, without milk or sugar. I suspect it'd be even better with milk and perhaps sweetener, but it's pretty good on its own. One of the worst chai teas that I've had. There was way too much cinnamon and was very poorly balanced. Also, the price is quite high for a chai tea of this quality.
