Panyang Golden Tips from Harney and Sons
Style: Panyang Congou – Region: Fujian, China80 / 100 Aroma: 8/10 Flavor: 5/5 Value: 3/5
Nov. 20th, 2012
Wiry leaf has a good amount of golden tip. I was surprised by the dark color of the liquor produced by these light golden leaves. The picture Harney provided looks a bit deceptive--I found it brews much darker.
Aroma is intensely cocoa-ey and chocolatey. Almost tastes like a cup of unsweetened cocoa. Reminiscent...
Famous Edinburgh from Brodies
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend63 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 3/5

A quite balanced black tea with a dark, almost slightly musty and round flavour. Aroma is mildly earthy and sweet. A good pick-up in the morning or after lunch, but a bit too strong for drinking in the evening.

I thought this tea was a good basic black, and it is pretty inexpensive too! I drank it straight without cream or sugar and didn't find it too strong (although I do like a good cup of strong black tea so my tastes may be different from some!). I'd be more apt to keep this tea around as a basic black over Lipton, and ...

Brews a very dark color, but flavor is surprisingly light (although still stronger than most light-colored teas). Tastes a lot more like high-grown Ceylon tea than like most Assam.
Aroma suggestive of spices and sweet rice, with quite a strong wood presence (like oak and cedar, unlike most teas). Peppery and punge...

Not as good as the offer carried by SpecialTeas but not a bad substitute. Far cheaper than TeaVana. Not quite as full-bodied as S.T.'s but similar in the cocoa\chocolaty flavor.

While this is not my favorite selection of the F&M line. It's a fairly good quality cup. R&M'S Royal Blend, Celebration, and Queen Anne are fabulously unforgetable teas.

Pu-erh has a very distinct aroma, and some may find it off-putting, but I love it. The aroma reminds me of a rich, earthy, smell, almost similar to a pile of autumn leaves. As to be expected from a fermented tea...it smells like it has been fermented! I find this Pu-erh really brings out the earthy aroma that a lot of b...

The aroma of the tea vaguely reminds me of a lower grade Oolong and is very pleasant. It is not an overpowering aroma and has a tendency to fade pretty quickly.
The taste is great, Hoji-cha might be my favorite tea from Yamamotoyama Teas. The subtle smokiness with the rich taste of green is an excellent blend of fla...
Classic Blend from Tetley Tea
Style: Black Tea – Region: Blend73 / 100 Aroma: 7/10 Flavor: 3/5 Value: 5/5
Oct. 20th, 2012
I drink 4 to 5 cups of tea daily. Classic Tetley is a preferred staple in my diet. I occasionally enjoy flavoured teas, but Tetley is a decent cup and at the best price. Money saved looks better on my mortgage! Indeed simple, but dearly missed when I don't have access to it.

This is pretty good Oolong. It has a deep, dark aroma, but is light bodied and subtle. The tea has a slightly sweet, dark, but quick finish and goes well with soup and/or dumplings, playing off the saltiness of the broth and the heartiness of the dumplings. I've found that the flavor doesn't linger very long, but th...

This is a nice, subtle oolong. The leaves are fairly green and the fermentation flavor is mild. I think new tea drinkers or occasional tea drinkers may have trouble appreciating the subtlety of this tea, but I'm told it blends well for people that like their teas to have stronger flavors. Because of its gentle flavo...

This is one of my favorite teas, it's good any time of year. Gyokura Imperial (to me) epitomizes what you want from a Japanese green tea; it's dark, complex, has a hint of seaweed, but somehow manages to be light and airy at the same time. As the other reviewer mentioned, the aroma is fresh cut grass mixed with a hin...

The only tea I've ever tried from Rwanda: a humble teabag with finely-broken tea fannings.
Exceptionally strong and robust: this makes some Assam tea look weak! Good with milk and one of the few teas that I actually preferred this way. Brews a very dark blackish-brown cup, opaque, almost like black coffee. Yet le...

I'm no expert on Gyokuro, but I will say that, at least to my tastes, this was a top-notch example of one.
I sampled this at World Tea East, but I found I liked it better when I brewed it myself. Harney recommends 155F and 3 minutes. For one teaspoon, I found I liked the results better with a little hotter water (...
