Tea Flower, Camellia sinensis plant in Bloom

White camellia flower with yellow center, among thick, tough, dark green serrated leavesView Full Resolution

This photo shows the flower of a tea plant. The tea plant, Camellia sinensis, is a close relative of the widely-cultivated garden camellias, and its resemblance is immediately clear.

The leaves pictured here are tough and leathery, reflective of tea leaves that have had time to mature, typical for broadleaf evergreen plants in climates like that where the tea plant grows.
