This NASA satellite photo shows the Kaçkar mountain rainge in Turkey. The Rize region is the vibrant green strip along the southeast coast of the Black Sea. This region has a much wetter climate than is typical for most of Turkey, which is arid to semiarid. The extra rainfall and humidity makes it ideal for growing tea.
