This photo shows the intense yellowish-green color that sencha green tea of good quality can have.
This tea was grown in Kagoshima, and was a deep-steamed sencha from the first harvest of 2017. Grown in Kagoshima. The plants were of the Sae Midori variety, a cross between the Yabukita and Asatsuyu varieties.
This photograph documents the second infusion of the tea. The cup is a contemporary white ceramic Arita-yaki cup. Its imperfections reflect the concept of wabi-sabi, a concept important in Japanese aesthetics.
