Two Different Grades of (Green, Unroasted) Yerba Mate
This photo shows two different grades or cuts of green, unroasted Yerba mate. Pictured on the left is "yerba mate elaborada despalada”, and on the right, “yerba mate elaborada con palo". The cut on the right has larger pieces of stem.
Most mate widely available in the U.S. looks more like the grade on the left, and there is a range of quality and leaf size.
