I tried this tea hoping it'd be a less expensive version of the full leaf Passion flavor by Tazo. It isn't as sophisticated or as sweet as that tea, but it's quite good--especially when you're in the mood for something tart!
A deep reddish purple quickly diffuses once the water is poured. The smell is quite nice and distinctly lemony. The flavor is strongly lemon at first, which then drops to a strong hibiscus flavor at the finish. I like both of these flavors, and so enjoyed this tea. I do wish that the two flavors were experienced together, which would have made for a more complex and balanced experience, I think.
The second steeping diffused much more slowly, but otherwise was the same. So you can easily get two solid cups worth out of one tea bag.
Update: I've tried this one a couple more ways and loved it each time. A little milk with the tea is very smooth, and I also tried it with fresh lemon juice. (I had a lemon in the fridge to use up.) The lemon juice blended exceptionally well, which I wasn't sure would be the case since there was already such a clear lemon taste on the front end. This may be my favorite among inexpensive bagged teas. I bet it would be great to brew up a bunch, chill it, then mix with fresh lemonade.
