This blend is mostly hibiscus and tastes a lot like straight hibiscus tea; it's a pretty high-quality example of this, for a tea bag. Thanks Brytta for sharing this sample!
Brews up an intense red color, very clear too (I drank this in a glass teacup, and it was nice to see).
A surprising amount of complexity in the aroma, which was pretty strong and suggested jam or cooked fruit, like cooked berries. I thought the hibiscus overpowered the lemon, to me it only seemed like a hint of lemon. Flavor VERY sour, as hibiscus tea usually is. Moderate astringency.
I'm not a fan of pure hibiscus herbal teas, because they're far too sour for me, and this one is no exception. But I did think that this was a fairly high-quality example of one.
If I were to drink this, I'd brew it very weakly and drink it as an iced tea, as that's the only way I really enjoy hibiscus...unfortunately it's very cold these days so I didn't feel like brewing a batch to say how it works, but judging from the flavor of the hot drink, I'm pretty sure it would be excellent for such use!
