This surprised me; it's a whole-leaf tea with relatively large leaves; a few of the leaves are broken or torn but most are intact.
Fruity and floral aroma, even perfumey, with a slightly smoky finish. Gentler than any other Earl Grey I've had. The flavor profile is similar to a high-quality Jasmine, but the aroma is quite different. Very smooth flavor, and with a faint honey-like sweetness, but also with a bit of crispness. No astringency.
This was not at all what I expected, but I find it to be an outstanding tea. The base green tea is a lot like a Chinese gunpowder tea or a chun mee, but is a lot more nuanced. I am convinced that this is a top-quality base tea, selected to blend seamlessly with the bergamot.
The quality of this tea, combined with the fact that I love ceylon greens makes this a real winner for me. I would highly recommend this one!
