↑About Sakuma Brothers
Sakuma Brothers is a brand of produce owned by Sakuma Brothers, a small farming operation in the Skagit Valley in Washington State. Sakuma Bros. sells their products, of which tea is only a small part, at the Sakuma Market Stand.
Sakuma Bros. grows a little more than 5 acres of tea, which it processes into green tea, white tea, and oolong tea. Presently they are one of only a few commercial tea-growers in the continental U.S.
We have not seen any recent information on the production and availability of Sakuma Brothers' tea, and have not been able to verify whether or not they have sold any tea more recently than 2013.
The company was the subject of labor disputes and boycotts, starting in 2013 and continuing into 2014. This has centered primarily on strawberry production and tea has not been mentioned in these disputes; the boycotts extended to the Driscoll's strawberry brand, which were one of the primary public brands selling these strawberries. The boycott was called off by most people in 2016 when the company agreed to recognize the worker's union, Familias Unidas por La Justicia.
