Loose-leaf Dark (Roasted) Yaupon from Cat Spring Yaupon Tea
This photo shows loose-leaf roasted yaupon, broken into large pieces. The roast on this batch is not particularly dark; I've had darker-roast Yerba mate as well as hojicha (roasted Japanese green tea). Note the large size of the leaf pieces...the chunks are much bigger than any batch of yerba mate or guayusa that I've tried.
The leaves look fairly large and tough, giving them a thick, chunky appearance.
