Tea Leaves, After Harvesting, Bushenyi District, Uganda
This photo shows a closeup of tea plants following previous harvesting. Note the numerous cut shoots in this picture, and note also that most of the remaining leaves are large, thick, tough, and dark green, reflecting that they are older, more mature leaves that were lower down on the stem, and were left in place after harvesting.
A few shoots have begun resprouting, and you see a fresh stem with bud and young leaves in the center, and a few tiny new sprouts forming elsewhere in the photo.
