Kabusecha, Japanese Green Tea, Loose-leaf
This photo shows both the brewed cup and loose-leaf of kabusecha, a high grade of Japanese green tea. This tea is shaded during a period of time before harvest, leading the leaves to take on a darker green color than that of typical sencha. The shading period is less, however, than that used to produce gyokuro.
