Very GoodGoodGood Value

Aroma of the dry leaf is like a masala chai, heavy on the cardamom, but with perhaps a more strong suggestion of dried herbs, like an herb garden.

The brewed cup, red in color, smells much less like a typical masala chai. The rooibos is strongly evident, and there's a pretty strong spicy quality, I think from the ginger. Slightly tangy.

This is not my favorite sort of herbal blend, flavor-wise, but I think it is exceptionally well-executed for what it is. There is a good balance of flavors...the only one that I think is slightly dominating is the ginger. Flavor is slightly tangy. Somehow seems to have both a warming and cooling quality, quite balanced. I wish the cardamom came through more in the brewed cup, as much as it does in the dry mix.

I have not tried making this as an iced tea, but my intuition is that it would make a very good iced tea.

Did I find this tea energizing? It's hard to say, because the effects of blends like this usually tend to be subdued or subtle, more so than caffeinated teas, but I did feel quite good after drinking it.

Price is very reasonable for an organic-certified blend of this quality. The leaf goes quite far too, and you can infuse it multiple times, although the character is not quite as bold with subsequent infusions...it retains the tangy and ginger qualities but is more thin-bodied.
