Although chamomile is the dominant and defining herb in this blend, I like it much more than straight chamomile tea.
Brews a rich golden color. Aroma is highly floral, but not in a fleeting or cloying way. Reminiscent more of flowers in a meadow on a dry summer day, and quite different from the intoxicating fragrances of orchid, lilac, or other similar flowers.
Flavor is balanced. There's a lot of bite up-front, and less muted bitterness in the aftertaste, which is another point on which I prefer this to straight chamomile. Upon drinking the whole cup, the licorice becomes more evident, imparting a smooth, warming quality to the brew.
I thought this blend quite well-executed, and also novel and showing some creativity. This was the first tea bag I've tried from Pukka, and, while I normally prefer loose-leaf and shy away from tea bags, I'd be eager to sample more of their offerings.
