I sampled this tea courtesy of the Church of the Holy City in Wilmington, Delaware.
It was interesting, and very different from anything else of the sort. Just a basic paper tea bag, but it was fresh, full-bodied, flavorful, and aromatic.
The clove is enough to impart a richness, but not enough to give that sharp, overwhelming clove quality. The pear flavoring blends well with the spice and it's hard to tell where one begins and the other ends...and the same goes for the base tea, the flavoring blends well with the character of the tea.
I love spiced pears--my mom makes pickled pears every other year with the harvest from a particular pear tree in my hometown of Lancaster, PA--but this tea didn't really resemble those, in spite of being spiced pears.
It was good though. This tea bag definitely got my attention--it was considerably above average quality for a simple tea bag that was stored out in the open air in a thin paper wrapper. A little pricey for tea bags though.
