My perpetual quest for the perfect Blueberry tea might have finally ended. The first thing I noticed about this tea when I opened the large tin at Wegmans were the beautiful leaves. Whole leaves and buds mixed with large dried blueberries and pretty cornflower petals. I am not sure what kind of teas were used in this blend, it looks like a Bai Mu Dan and a long leaf green.
The aroma of the leaves and the brewing tea were phenomenal. A perfect blend of vegetal green, bright white, and ripe, fresh blueberries.
The best thing about this tea is the taste, it is perfectly balanced and no one taste overwhelms the other. The blueberries taste like you just plucked one from a bush perfectly ripened, the green tea is not at all bitter and is vegetal, the white tea ties the tastes together with a clean mellowness that makes for a perfect cup.
My only complaint is the only place to get this tea is Wegmans, the only time I have access to this store is when I am visiting my mom once a year. Tragic!
