This chamomile is beautifully aromatic, with a rich, warm fragrance. It's moderately fruity and there are less of the straw or hay tones that I notice in some chamomile.
The cup brews a light color and the flavor is a little less bitter than normal for how aromatic it is. There's a little sourness in the flavor too. Definitely among the better samples of chamomile I've tried.
At $36 a pound, this is a little on the pricey side, but not completely prohibitive; mountain Rose sells organic-certified stuff for $20 a pound, but I haven't tried theirs. Octavia's stuff is pretty top-notch so it may be worth the premium.
I was served this herbal tea in Velvet Sky Bakery in Jenkintown, and I'd order it again here, but I'd be unlikely to buy it in bulk on my own because of the price.
