A 3 minute or so steep was good for me with this tea, which brewed to an amber color. It reminds me of teas I drank and enjoyed while living in Japan (though this style is actually from China). The smell, pleasantly "grassy", is muted until your face is in the cup, but very nice. It feels, for me, like a tea of nostalgia. I'll be buying this again. :-)

Update: Tried this one again. I'd like to add that oversteeping can happen easily if you're not a fan of any bitterness, so keep an eye on your time.

I just tried this one for the first time today, and it really struck me as similar to your description. It also tasted much more like Japanese teas than Chinese teas to me, which surprised me. I looked at Numi's description and they say it is steamed, which could explain it, because that's how most Japanese teas are made. Normally this type of tea is pan-fired I think.

I really like it when other people are able to express stuff in words about a tea, which are surprising or unusual to me, and then I try the tea and I notice the same qualities myself! So thanks for capturing that in your review!
