Strong but without an edge; malty, full-bodied, but not overly tannic. The dry leaf has a pleasantly strong vegetal aroma, unusual for a black tea, but I was disappointed to find little of this characteristic come through in the brewed cup.
Not the most interesting tea, perhaps, but a very enjoyable tea to drink, mainly because of its complete lack of the objectionable astringency that teas of this strength often have.
I recommend brewing for 2 minutes although this tea definitely works for longer brewing times too without becoming prohibitively bitter. Reasonable price.
