5 minute steep for first cup, Smells smoky and good! Amanda's rating of the smell is pretty descriptive of it too! Great strength to this tea...steeped just right...a touch of bitterness off the bat, then I taste the sweetness on the end...the opposite of what others tasted! Not sure about the value as it was a gift...best hot, and not steeped too long as it gets quite bitter
