I'm not a big fan of Shou Pu-erh, and I think Pu-erh tea bags usually tend to be terrible, but I thought this was a well-executed blend, and I think the ginger blends quite well with the base tea.
The aroma is distinctive. Because it's dried ginger, it reminds me a little more of gingerbread cookies than fresh ginger, and the flavor is a bit more mellow than fresh ginger tea, but there is still a little bit of zing in the cup, which is refreshing because Shou pu-erh can be too smooth for my tastes at times.
The cup has a nice warming quality but it still tastes fresh and light. There's a lingering sweetness in the finish and I'm not sure where it's coming from, as it's a quality I associate neither with ginger nor with Pu-erh.
I found it pleasant to drink and I felt good after drinking it. I barely noticed any caffeine kick so I suspect it's pretty low in caffeine.
I liked this surprisingly much, and would drink it again, although it's expensive enough that I probably wouldn't buy it on my own.
