This was my favorite oolong that I have sampled in a long time. After being let down by several oolongs from Harney & Sons, this one hit the spot.
The leaf, which is quite wiry, smells amazing and multifaceted: floral, fruity, toasty, spicy. There's a skunky note and a pleasant bready, baked-good quality. It seems to change character based on how I think about it.
The brewed cup has a very fruity aroma, like peach or apricot, but there are pleasant herbal undertones. I find the aroma fresh and cooling. I like it very much, and the more I drink it the more I like it. The cup is smooth but with a pleasant light astringency. The overall character of the cup is delicate and refined.
A light sweetness and sourness, combined with the peachy aroma, gives this a peach-juice-like quality, but roasty undertones betray its oolong nature.
Resteeps well, but I still preferred the first cup.
Slightly pricey, at $8 for 1.5 ounces, but I think worth the cost. This was a special tea, standing out among oolongs.
