Admittedly I haven't been up to the Urban Teahouse location in OKC as of this writing, but drinking this at a Norman breakfast restaurant, and getting a sample to take home and chug, makes me want to pay a dangerous visit next time I'm up in that part of "The Big Town". Why dangerous? Because of what that visit would do to my account balance, of course. If their other loose-leaf teas are as good as the Earl Grey, I'd come home with quite a haul.
I thought it would be a weak tea, since the color didn't brew up very dark...wrong! This is a really rich, sturdy EG that doesn't back down from a challenge. At the eatery, where chlorinated city water exists, the base tea steeped and resteeped nicely, and didn't seem to lose any of the bergamot essence in the second go-round. My wife is an avid EG drinker and also was impressed. At home, with well water, I bled out every possible molecule, as usual, and found the taste every bit the match of the great aroma (atypical for an EG in my experience). This is one of the top EGs I've ever had. I cheerfully recommend Urban Teahouse's take on it.
