With similar coloration of the outer box, as well as ingredients, I suspect this is the Trader Joe's imitation of Yogi's "DeTox" product. However, I can't compare the two directly, since I haven't (yet) tried the Yogi version. Still, this is the best wellness/medicinal tea I've had to date, one of the best herbal teas period, and I'm rating it higher than any of the Yogis chugged so far. Indeed, given the listed ingredients' similarities, this makes me more eager to get my hands on "DeTox". Until then, TJ's Detox blend has strong similarity of taste to dry-bag aroma: cinnamon-heavy, but enough to help without overwhelming the other herbs. There's enough black pepper that you may sneeze when sniffing the dry bag.

Have you ever drunk herbal wellness teas that taste simply weird, like you've turned into a goat and been grazing some arboretum's wildflower garden? A lot of those teas give me that herb-salad mishmash impression, and it's offputting. Not this one. Though the ingredients list is somewhat long (see bottom), the cinnamon and black pepper add a spicy kick I like a lot, and overcome or cloak the salad-greens effect, while still leaving enough other flavor to let you know you're drinking a multi-herbal blend. Sweetened (as I always do) this tea is both smooth and spicy, and richly variegated. At times I pick up on, say, ginger or cloves or sarsaparilla flavors, but not in every single sip, though the cinnamon is always there. It makes for a nice taste kaleidoscope that tickles the tongue, while going down with a warming effect befitting the spices.

Organic Sarsaparilla root
Organic Ginger
Organic Licorice root

Organic Burdock root
