This is the first of a handful of loose teas I purchased, for somewhat of a high price (even in the otherwise favorable baht/USD conversion), at TWG's nicely done Emporium Mall store in Bangkok. Now that I'm home, they'll be rotated in behind teas being used up.
Admittedly, I got Morning Storm mainly for the name, and the implication that it's a robust breakfast tea. Still, it passed the sniff test of the in-store sample, which matched the bag I bought: a strong-smelling black tea with somewhat chocolatey and faintly floral elements. The in-cup smell and taste are quite different: straightforward, fairly astringent and somewhat savory black tea, not much bitterness...lively, and seems to have a decent caffeine kick to it. The aftertaste lingers basically the same as the in-cup experience.
It's a good-quality, pleasant brew, just not what the dry aroma advertised. Therefore, I'm not at all disappointed I bought it, and will finish it all with pleasure. It could have come across even better, however, had either the chocolate/floral tones in the dry smell, or the mild nuttiness advertised on their website (which didn't register to me at all) been more forceful.
