This is my first from 6-tea holiday variety box purchased at ALDI. Based on the website "ALDI Reviewer," some of the teas have made seasonal appearances before, such as in Advent calendars containing teas and snacks. In case this is seen in time for 2025, they're brought back in future years, or you receive these teas as a gift, I'll review them so you'll have some idea what to expect. As always with subjective things like tea ratings, your mileage may vary. ;-)

Seldom have I had a tea with such weak aroma (dry-bag and in-cup) give such a prominent flavor. What little smell came out of the opened pouch (paper outside, foil inside) was weak chai, not very chocolatey. Same with in-cup. Steeping yields a dark tea quickly, since the ingredients in the bag are nearly powder, even more finely ground than usual for a chai (certainly more so than, say, Trader Joe's popular version).

The taste, however, especially after deliberate oversteeping (due to the weak smell) is a smooth, sweet, somewhat creamy chai more than a sharp one. So the cinnamon and ginger components are modest, with most emphasis on cloves, vanilla and cardamom. Chocolate is there taste-wise, but in the middle of all those, and takes a solid backseat to the top three. The base tea is decent in quality, enough to support these ingredients, but far from a premier Assam or anything of that sort. With a lot of components, that's where this blend falls. It's an enjoyable tea and the value is good at about 12ยข/bag, with 8 of each flavor in the 48-count gift box.
