I picked up this blend from a friend, and I found it to be sickeningly sweet, to the point of being barely drinkable. Yerba mate is naturally quite sweet, so I do not see the need to sweeten it, and I tend to like unsweetened tea and herbal teas. But the amount of sweetener in this is absolutely over the top...far more sweetener than I would have added to anything even when I was a kid and loved sweet flavors.
In terms of the yerba mate's flavor, it's hard to detect under the sweetness, but it's there. And it's not terrible. This was probably the most enjoyable aspect of this blend.
Needless to say, I poured this one out, and I would not recommend buying it. But I'd be curious to try the pure (unsweetened) Yerba Mate from this same company...perhaps I'd like it a lot more.
