↑About Gorreana Tea
Gorreana Tea is a tea company and tea garden located in the Azores. Gorreana Tea makes the claim of being "Europe's Oldest Tea", as it was founded in 1883, and, as part of Portugal, the Azores are usually considered part of Europe, making Gorreana tea the oldest tea plantation in Europe that is still in operation. However, the Azores are quite far from land, in the middle of the Atlantic ocean, giving them a unique climate quite distinct from the rest of Europe.
The company's tea plantations were started in 1874, by two Chinese tea growers. The tea estate and factory are also a popular tourist destination.
Gorreana Tea produces both black and green teas and produces only orthodox (traditionally, hand-processed) teas; their green teas are steamed, much like Japanese green teas. Their black teas are available in a number of different grades. The production process has remained more or less the same since the company's founding, and the company uses no herbicides, fungicides, or other pesticides in the tea's production.

Medium strength orange pekoe , yet not close to a regular black tea harshness . Somewhat weaker and smother .I detect there is somewhat of a Liquorice flavour . Great as its the only tea grown historically in the island of saint michael's azores , portugal.
This black tea is weak yet a little mellow , woody finish . Bark and wet wood lingers on the palette.
this particular tea is harder to find then the blue labeled black tea from the same tea company .
A lovely mellow black tea. Has great taste and leaves you wanting more to experience exactly the full taste of this delightful tea. A nice treat indeed
