↑About Tea Horse Road
Tea Horse Road is a tea company based in Wellington, New Zealand, focusing on organic blends and Darjeeling tea. The company has no connection to the UK-based company named Tea Horse. The name is a translation of Chamadao, an ancient trade route between Tibet and China, along which both tea and horses were traded.
Tea Horse Road focuses on artisan blends or flavored teas, each of which includes a small number of ingredients, sometimes as few as only the tea and one other ingredient. The blending ingredients are whole, and the teas chosen are single-origin artisan teas. The blends are inspired by flavor combinations used in traditional Asian cultures.
