This loose-leaf Dian hong, or black tea from Yunnan province, has a wiry, curly leaf shape with abundant golden tips. Corresponding to its tippy quality, it is relatively smooth in flavor and quite caffeinated, although not as much so as some teas that have an even greater portion of buds.
