Brews an amber color. Trader Joe's recommends brewing 1-2 minutes and then discarding. I brewed 5 as I like a stronger cup. The tea was not too strong for me--still milder than many greens or blacks.
Not terribly aromatic, but flavorful. Aroma is like a bai mu dan, but much weaker: mostly of soft grain, with a hint of dried leaves, perhaps very faintly citrusy or floral. Flat aroma, overall. This tea feels substantially caffeinated; I can't always assess the caffeine content, it's just based on the way I feel, but I think this is a very strongly caffeinated tea relative to how mild it tastes. More bitter than you'd expect, but soft and full-bodied. Some astringency.
I've had worse. Among the tea bags in this price range though, I'd prefer Ten Ren's white tea. And for this price, you can get a number of decent loose-leaf white teas from Upton, so why buy tea bags?
