A mild, smooth tea that I prefer steeping for a longer time (around 5 minutes). Aroma is hard to describe, and I am not crazy about it, it has a sort of muted creaminess, but not in a light way. There's a notable absence of most of the tones that characterize black tea, inculding ones from Kenya. The flavor is very mild unless you steep it longer, and then it takes on a tannic edge with a bitter aftertaste.
The only thing I really like in this tea is that it produces an interesting explosion of aroma in the finish, suggestive of allspice or cinnamon.
Overall, I was less enthusiastic about it than other Kenyan teas from Upton. It's not terribly expensive, but there are considerably cheaper teas from Upton that I strongly prefer.
