I don't like these sour fruit teas, and this one is no exception. I do, however, prefer it slightly to the Wild Encounter Herb Tea (berry flavored) from Novus.
Although rather similar to Wild Encounter, this one is slightly less sour, and more sweet. Surprisingly sweet, naturally, without adding any sugar. Aroma is pleasing...the pomegranate is noticeable but not cloying; it is more natural tasting than other pomegranate flavored blends that I've tried.
I think I would like this one if it were not for the sourness. If I were to rework or redesign this blend, I'd remove whatever ingredients are making it sour (I suspect it contains hibiscus, although I don't have an ingredient list), and add instead something more neutral yet full-bodied, like a red rooibos or honeybush base.
Novus has three herbal teas and I only really like one of them--the citrus chamomile. It's unfortunate, because Novus has outstanding loose teas, and Novus is owned by Bigelow, and they make some herbal teas that are among my favorites. I wish they would retire at least one of the fruit teas, this and Wild Encounter, as they are very similar, and instead add another pure herb. I think pure rooibos would be a great choice. Pure green rooibos might set them apart, but a high-quality red rooibos or honeybush would also be a good addition.
