I was sad to see this tea removed from Upton's listings, as I enjoyed sampling it. [Update: it seems Upton has added a new lot, and I'm eager to try that one!]
Extremely flavorful and complex, with many different aspects of the aroma: dark, vegetal tones, rich grassy tones similar to a good dragonwell tea, and a hint of skunkiness. The aroma and flavor are both bold and sharp, but without being biting. There's also a honey-like quality reminiscent of a lighter Taiwanese oolong or pouchong, but overall the character is very robust, unlike those teas.
I would say this is among the best of green teas that I've sampled and is also quite unique and distinguished. The price was also very reasonable given the organic and fair trade certification.
