Dry leaf has an intensely fruity aroma; aroma of the brewed cup is a bit more subdued. Flavor is moderately sour and slightly sweet, a little suggestive of unsweetened cranberry juice, and faintly suggestive of spiced cider.
I tend not to like predominately fruity blends like this, and I found this quite drinkable and enjoyable. But it also struck me as considerably less interesting and complex than a majority of Rishi's offerings.
One thing I like about this blend though is that they don't overdo the sourness. This blend uses Schizandra berries; I've sample Rishi's pure schizandra berries and they're quite pleasant and unique, aromatic, with a tangy flavor and a peppery quality. I can sense these in the blend and I like it.
Another thing I actually like about this blend is that it doesn't overwhelmingly taste like blueberries. I love eating fresh blueberries but I tend not to like blueberry-flavored teas, but this one is a pleasant exception.
I recommend a briefer brewing than Rishi recommends. They recommended 5-7 minutes but I found 4 was more to my liking; I then brewed a second cup with very good results.
