This tea was very fresh when I picked it up. Dry leaf is largeish pieces of broken orthodox tea, with a pleasant aroma, typical of black tea but with hints of cinnamon and wintergreen, a good sign!

Brews a very dark color. Very aromatic, and with a very smooth flavor! Only slightly malty, balanced with fruity qualities, and significant wintergreen in the aroma. There's a hint of cinnamon in the finish, much less than suggested by the dry leaf, which I like: I actually preferred the smell of the brewed cup to the dry leaf.

Very low astringency, given how rich this tea is. I was able to brew a second cup too. Rich but without being bitter. I thought this a very good tea at a reasonable price, especially for being organic and fair trade certified.
