I received a sample of this - and as I don't often have time for loose tea I made a whole bunch and had 1 cup hot and the rest iced. It is a good smelling and OK tasting black tea. Not bitter - and easy to drink.
Leaves are broken finely.
Brewed it again for my 9 year old who likes it "British" with milk. She loved it.

I've tried four Nilgiri teas now, and while I thought some were a little better than others, I had a pretty similar reaction to yours here--I thought they were all okay, pleasant, drinkable, but nothing terribly exciting.
I remain open-minded though...I am open to trying a really amazing (or really terrible) Nilgiri tea.
