This is my favorite Dragon Well ever sampled, and the third top-notch dragon well tea that I've tried from TeaVivre. This tea tasted more similar to TeaVivre's organic offering than their Superfine Pre-Ming Dragon Well Long Jing Tea.

The dry leaf smells amazing!!! It smells very bold and strong.

When brewed, aroma is typical for a dragon well. Flavor is very smooth: sweet, and with little bitterness or sourness and some umami. I find there's a little more of the chestnut aroma. Leaves a pleasant, dusty sensation on the palate.

I found I preferred a longer (2 minute) steeping for the first cup.

I do think I enjoyed this tea a bit more than the other two TeaVivre dragon wells, but it costs over 50% more. Is it worth the extra price though? Maybe for a big splurge, but green tea is something I drink in quantity, and TeaVivre's other green teas, especially theh other two dragon wells that I've tried, are lower priced and still top-notch.

This would be a good purchase for someone who wants to try a truly extraordinary dragon well, but it's not an everyday tea!

Thank you so much for all the great samples! This was the first I tried this morning, after seeing your review from a few months back. Truly an extraordinary tea. If I ever win the lottery, I want to hang a pouch of this around my neck just so I can sniff at it all day long... :)
