This is an inexpensive Darjeeling, not a high grade of tea, but offering decent quality relative to its price. It has a relatively dark, full-bodied character among Darjeeling teas, even though it looks lighter in color.
Brews a light-colored cup with a fruity aroma, suggestions of caramel and malt, and producing a slight peppery sensation. Moderately astringent. Some bitterness. Very full-bodied and flavorful, but not the most complex or refined aroma.
Pleasant. I'd gladly drink this one again, but it's not mind-blowing, and I think it lags behind a typical single-estate Darjeeling, more on par with a typical blend.
