A relatively mild, easy-to-brew oolong with a milky fragrance and lemony tang.
I recently tried a Jin Xuan oolong from the company Eco-Cha, and comparing it with this one was like night and day, as much as you can get with a green oolong. While that one was buttery, this tea was milky.
The dry leaf is very tightly rolled, and has an intense milky fragrance.
Brews a very pale cup that is very fragrant. The leaf unfurls slowly and unevenly, showing jagged edges. The leaf is slightly broken and the leaves look quite small relative to other oolongs, including the other Jin Xuan I recently sampled.
Aroma is milky, less buttery than other similar oolongs. There's also a citrusy quality, like lemon. Flavor is smooth but slightly tangy...there's a mild bitterness, but very little astringency.
Stays flavorful through 3 infusions...the third brings out honey-like tones and is less milky. The lemony quality remains through each cup. I steeped 3 minutes, then 5, then 8.
Solidly good. Not otherworldly, not among my favorite green oolongs, but very enjoyable.

This was my first tasted Oolong. I thought it was lovely. While tasting it, I couldn't help but desire to pair it with a lemon zested, baked salmon on a bed of fresh spinach topped with whipped butter. This tea would have complimented the meal quite nicely.
