Mellow, smooth, rich malty flavor. Deep red color; little bitterness or astringency. Very enjoyable. I find this tea grows on me. There is a suggestion of sweet fruit in the aroma, almost like baked apples.
Two leaves and a bud recommends a 4-minute infusion. I prefer a 2-minute infusion followed by a second 4-5 min. one.
The teabag contains a generous amount of leaf and it can be used both to brew more than one cup at once, and to make multiple infusions; the second infusion is remarkably rich and flavorful. This tea looks expensive but it is very reasonable given that I am able to brew about 4 cups worth (two very large mugs) from the same teabag.
