A very bold-tasting Jasmine tea. Tried at my friend Fairleigh's house; thank you for serving this!
Dry leaf is very aromatic, with a strong and pleasing jasmine smell, but also the base tea is evident.
Upon brewing, produces a golden-colored cup with a rich, powerful flavor. A good balance of jasmine flavoring and the base tea...and the base tea itself smells a bit floral.
I like the choice of base tea; sometimes these Jasmine "pearl" teas use a rather weak or nondescript tea, like a white tea, as a base, but I strongly prefer bolder ones. At the same time, the base tea seems high quality--relatively smooth, not a lot of astringency, and few "off" aromas.
I only got to try this tea once, steeping it about 3 minutes, but the results were very good. I liked it better than Teavana's, and it is significantly cheaper too.
