I definitely noticed a nutty/roasted flavor and aroma in this tea. That isn't my favorite flavor to find in tea, but it tastes of good quality and would likely be very enjoyable to someone who *does* have that preference.
I brewed it at 195 °F and steeped it for 3 minutes. This gave it plenty of flavor without turning the drink bitter. I didn't notice any sweetness the way that other reviewers have. The color of the brew was rather auburn. I left the water warming in my tea kettle, which concentrated the flavor for the second drink and made it a far deeper shade.
Certainly good quality tea--just not quite in line with my palate.
I received this as a free sample (thanks Alex!), so I went to the website to get a sense of their pricing. The website gives measurements in grams. Converted to ounces, this appears to be over $10 per ounce--which I'd count as high. Hence, the "value" score of 2.
