A good black tea, but not among my favorites. This is now the fourth tea I've tried from Milima estate in Kenya. I've become a huge fan of teas from this garden: two of their teas are among my top-rated black teas of all time.

I thought this one was good, but I didn't like it quite as much as the examples I tried from Harney & Sons and TeaGschwendner.

The dry leaf is pretty and wiry, but not very aromatic.

Upon brewing, there is a slight metallic taste. Aroma is deep and subdued, rather Darjeeling-like, suggesting a Darjeeling second or autumnal flush, with some deep fruity notes and a hint of caramel, also very floral. There are a few "off" aromas that I didn't like. Finish is slightly more astringent than other teas I've tried from this estate--I think this may be a slightly lower grade than what I've tried previously.

I liked this best with a five minute steeping. It does not get very bitter, and the astringency was the only limiting factor in brewing strength.

Overall a good tea, but not the best I have tried from this tea garden. I liked this better than Upton's TK40, also from the same garden, which is interesting because this tea was significantly cheaper. The two teas, however, are very different aromatically.
