note: this is the only lapsang souchong i've tried.
very powerful in both flavor and aroma. a very smokey smell. many people i've offered it to told me it smells like a camp fire. i definitely smell the terpenes (chemicals from the pine wood).
i am a big fan of this tea, but it is definitely not for everyone. most people i offered it to were not even interested in trying it after smelling it.
i will occasionally drink it straight, but i really enjoy blending it with black teas (usually using 25% - 50% lapsang souchong). i think the smokey flavor complements many teas very well.
i think that curing a high-quality black tea in cedar wood smoke would be awesome. i wonder if such a tea variety exists...
