Both the dry and brewed tea smell almost like Wrigley's Doublemint gum with the balance a little more toward peppermint.
The taste is not what I was expecting. The tea is definitely minty, but as the ingredients include rose hips, lemon peel and hibiscus, I was expecting some fruitiness. Of the extra ingredients, I only really taste the rose hips. The menthol sensation is quite strong, and it lacks the woody flavor that sometimes accompanies cheap peppermint. Though the balance leans heavily toward the peppermint, the spearmint is still quite pronounced.
Unfortunately, I don't think I like this blend as well as I like any one of the ingredients. It's not unpleasant to drink, but if I'm looking for mint, I'd prefer either straight spearmint or peppermint. I also like rose hips, but I just find them distracting in this blend.
